to Maria-Magdalena Attenberger’s private psychotherapy practice in Bockenheim, Frankfurt am Main.

I’m glad you’re here!
If challenges and problems in life currently feel like insurmountable mountains, if you’re simply looking for a little guidance and support right now, or if you want to reach one of your goals safely, it’s sometimes a good idea to seek help.
Much like a mountain guide assists a hiker, a therapist stands by their patients’ side. Together, you can check their “equipment” (e.g., existing resources and strengths), sort out unnecessary baggage (e.g., unhelpful beliefs), set goals together, and suggest routes. You can accompany them on their journey, but unfortunately, you can’t carry them. Just as a therapist helps patients, a mountain guide helps hikers to the best of their ability so that they can reach their destination independently and eventually climb the next peaks on their own. The journey is worth it, even if it’s sometimes exhausting, because not only the summit but also the journey itself can offer great views and a new sense of direction.
Procedure
1) Contact
To begin psychotherapy or coaching with me, please send me a written appointment request via email—feel free to include details about your availability and your concerns.
Important Note for Those with Private Health Insurance or Government-Sponsored Health Coverage: Before our first appointment, please check with your health insurance provider or government-sponsored health coverage program to find out what conditions apply to your eligibility for outpatient psychotherapy and coverage of its costs. I am a state-licensed psychological psychotherapist, and my license will be submitted to your insurance provider or government-sponsored health coverage program so that costs can be reimbursed.
2) Initial consultation & further assessment
You will then receive an appointment for an initial consultation (50 minutes) with me. During this session, we will discuss your concerns, wishes, and ideas for change. I will also be happy to advise you on which form of therapy or support may be most suitable for you.
Depending on our mutual availability and the practice’s schedule, we will then schedule additional sessions to get to know each other better. During these sessions, you’ll get to know me and my approach, and together we’ll develop a treatment plan.
3) Treatment
Treatment is tailored to your specific concerns and goals. Sessions typically take place weekly (50 minutes). However, depending on your concerns and the phase of treatment, longer intervals between sessions are also possible.
A fundamental distinction is made between behavioral therapy and coaching.
